Anti-Spam Research Lab (ASRL) is the advanced research lab of Digital Ecosystems and Business Intelligence Institute (DEBII), which is Tier 1 research institute in Curtin University. Our vision is to "eliminate spam"Anti-Spam Research Lab was setup in Jan 2008 and in a span of two years it has grown to be one of the major research labs in DEBI Institute. The aim of Anti-Spam Research Lab is to eliminate spam in any form i.e. Email spam, Web spam, Web 2.0 spam (i.e. blog spam, forum spam, social networking spam, wiki spam, tag spam, comment spam), Spamdexing, Spam over Internet Telephony (SPIT), Spam over Instant Messenger (SPIM) etc. Other than working on technical aspects of spam, the Anti-Spam Research Lab is also investigating the impact of Spam on Austrlain economy. Under this unbrella we are investigating the following questions: Measuring the amount of Web 2.0 Spam Effect of Web 2.0 Spam on Australian Businesses Annual Cost of Spam for Australia Amount of labor hours lost due to Web 2.0 Spam How Spam affects the productivity of Australian labor - Developing standards for web application development that is spam resistant etc.
